Orchard Trot

The rain we had hoped for didn’t arrive, just clouds and wind. So it’s still way too dry in most of the country - the „exceptional drought“ in the topsoil is starting to worry many farmers and foresters. And the forecast for the next couple of weeks doesn‘t promise more than a few showers.

Like on most Sundays, B and I met for a walk in the orchards. The cherry blossom is coming to an end, but some trees are still looking pretty in white. 

We were surprised when we met a woman, not walking her dog but trotting her horse, and jogging along. I wasn’t quick enough to get my mobile out for a picture before she had passed us, so you get a blip of a horse‘s backside today.
