Amphibians’ day

We came across these two when working in the garden.
I was cleaning out some of the detritus (not a word you read often on blip!) when I came across this newt. I had to lay out the dead leaves etc on some plastic sheeting to check that no animals were hiding and here he was.
As for the toad, my wife was trying to remove some weeds and there he was hiding and just escaped being “forked”
They are now back in their own environment in our garden.
