Ardinning
I had a dreadful sleep last night, partly due to pains in my left leg but equally so due to a howling cat. Leela woke me up at 3.36am and continued to do so until I eventually got up at 6.15am, she’s going back to the vet on Tuesday, the medication is not doing the trick.
Feeling less than energetic we went to Loch Ardinning Wildlife Reserve for the first time this year.it is a mix of heath, mire, grasslands and bog, so we only go when the weather has been dry and it has been this past month. We had a lovely peaceful walk, only meeting three other people in an hour and a half. It was not very warm on the exposed heath so glad I had a hood on my jacket.
My main is a bench with a wonderful view of the surrounding hills, the extra is a patch of lichen on one of the dry stone walls.I noticed little red dots and was curious as to what it was. Google lens tells me that is British soldier’s lichen but it may not be.
There were many willow warblers in the tree canopy and had I had my camera with me, I would have possibly got a shot of one of them, but I couldn’t face carrying it today, hopefully they will be obliging next time.
