Eternal Vigilance...

Watching out in all directions, the Berkeley Herd knows I'm up here and they're all the way down there... 

The quote that runs roughly as "the price of freedom is eternal vigilance" is attributed to many different people, but Thomas Jefferson is a key one. It occurs to me, somewhere along the line eternal vigilance seems to have been set aside in his then new-made land... I wonder if it can be reclaimed.
