North Bridge

We struck out for a day in the Auld Reekie or Bellaburgh as we now call it.
It was strangely quiet. Its a couple of weeks until the Edinburgh Festival and the place seems to be taking a deep breath in readyness for the influx of peoples from around the world.

We headed into the Gallery of Modern art and the National Gallery of Scotland. Rounded it off after a veggie lunch in Hendersons and a lazy sun bathe in Princes Street gardens.

I did take a few pictures of the castle, but the North Bridge and the Scotsman Hotel took my fancy. One day I will try and capture a swan flying past the battlements and stun everyone as did 42, but don't hold your breath.
