Cherry Blossom
The ornamental cherry trees on the river footpath have flowered early this year. I always allow them a blip and, given the weather forecast, I thought I'd better do it today. The rain and wind we're promised will make short work of the blossom.
People love the pink (see extra) and it does make a good show. I prefer the white though which is a bit more subtle. The trees are like yesterday's brunnera plant - pretty for a wee while but thereafter dull. These ornamental cherries don't do much for the environment either but they are much treasured in the locality.
A bonus day of sunshine today but noticeably cooler. We're heading out this afternoon to Bridge of Allan to an open house party. Friends are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Before that I am going to do a bit of wardrobe decluttering. There are some items I just won't wear again and they will do a turn for someone else I'm sure.
