Money for recycling

All these beverage containers will be taken to our nearby Return-It recycling centre where we'll be paid up to $.10 per container. As well as providing cash it keeps our parks and streets free from litter as poor people actively collect discarded cans.   We never understood why Scotland hadn't adopted a similar program.   It is funded by deposits paid by the consumers who buy the beverages and refunded to those folk who make the effort to rinse, save and return them.
