Ferret
Since A was still fast asleep at 09:30, I took Django out for his walk. I made sure to go via the edge of Lowrie's Den so I could get a good view of the hills after last night's fire. The area that was alight was on Lawhead Hill, not the main ridge. Hence it was nearer to us, so looked more extensive.
After relaxing for 30 minutes, I took daughter K's bike out - after tightening the handlebar attachment. I took the old railway, did a loop around Rosewell, and continued to Bonnyrigg.
I'd wondered about timing my outing so I could see the afternoon's game between Rose and Peterhead, but I doubt whether the atmosphere is up to much these days. Rose are now 7 points adrift at the bottom of League 2, and look sure to be in the relegation playoff. I do wonder whether they will be relegated anyway, as they need to level the pitch to remain in League 2, and it will cost £125k.
After turning round at Eskbank Station, I cut across to the old railway that heads through Loanhead to finish at Roslin. Going through Loanhead there are 10 Turf zones that are particularly close to each other. Hence it's one of the places people come to get their "ferret" medal - for taking 10 zones in 10 minutes. I got mine years ago, but it was good to take them within 9 minutes, even on a crappy bike. By then Aibo had taken my Penicuik old railway Turf zones, so I took them back as I returned home.
There I rested, showered, and watched the England women's rugby match, shopping for groceries at half time, and cooking for us after the game.
