A Classic Car for Hobbs!
Today we took a drive through the Adelaide Hills while listening to the AFL football on the car radio. After having a look at a wonderful old farm in Verdun, chatting to the owner grabbing a few photos, we decided it was time for afternoon tea at the Hahndorf Hill Winery.
This beautiful vineyard is located outside historic Hahndorf village - the oldest surviving German settlement in Australia and today a popular tourist destination.
Hahndorf Hill Winery is a boutique producer specialising in alternative wines, such as Gruner Veltliner, Blaufrankisch and Zweigelt, which are little known in Australia.
Rather than drink and drive, we opted for the 'purely chocolate' experience of hot chocolate, cake and a gourmet seafood platter. It was the perfect way to end a glorious late winter afternoon of sunshine and blue skies.
On returning to the car park, I found my blip for the day. A magnificently restored 1957 left-hand drive Buick, fully imported from USA. What a Classic Car! See if you can spot the 2 SPs.
More chrome.
You can see another classic car on the left, an old Chevvy.
