Swimming pool.

The post-work swimming routine continues to serve me well. It’s usually almost deserted and I don’t have to worry about splashing or disturbing anyone with my panting as I try and push myself each time.

My childhood swimming teacher Mrs Griffiths, who we used to go for lessons with in some Victorian era baths in Newcastle-under-Lyme, would be pleased that a fondness for swimming was instilled. She was very matronly and you wouldn’t dare mess with her, but she did inspire the youth.
