Building work in progress...
...but not with bricks & mortar. I've finally got tired of "Waiting for Godot" while my old desktop computer churns its way through Lightroom/Photoshop or video editing. I put it together at least 12 years ago so it's done stalwart service and has been very reliable; a new video card last year speeded it up when using Topaz software so that gave it a brief stay of execution!
So I was excited when the doorbell rang this morning and the parts for my new computer arrived. I've always liked building my PCs myself as I can choose exactly the spec I want and can fiddle with them to my heart's content without worrying about voiding the warranty by opening the case. So I hope I can remember how to do it after all those years since the last one! It is likely to take a day or three while I fit it in round other commitments. Hopefully it'll work first time, fingers crossed!
Note: I'm not a computer gamer - I gave that up when I turned about 35 (ie a "little" while ago now!) and no longer had the time...but a computer good for gaming is also good for photo or video editing.
(Other makes of computer motherboard are available.)
