Blossom and catkins

It can be quite  a challenge for me to come up with different blips because our daily routine is so very similar now that Smithers’ mobility is becoming more limited.

However, I’m always up for a challenge, so here’s today’s offering. We did the same walk as yesterday, just up to the Green. Smithers then rested on one of the benches on the Green which have a back to them (there are quite a few with no backs, which are too uncomfortable for him).

I meanwhile spent ten minutes faffing about waiting for bees to alight on the crab apple blossom – with limited success – but I enjoyed being out in the sunshine and then, when we got home, doing more faffing to create this collage. The oak gall is on a sapling which is growing up right beside the more established crab apple tree in the middle of the Green so that the two trees’ branches are intertwined. You can see its catkins in the lower right quadrant.
