The way of stars and stones

Today we walked 21 miles along a road. I tried some new shoes which were more cushioned but I put my old ones back on for the last five miles.

We are staying in a ryokan which has been run by the same family for three generations on the owner’s mother’s side. She is widowed now and has no children, so she said that she really enjoys meeting people from all over the world. She put flowers in every room, it is a beautiful, well-cared for place. And she made us a meal with 15 different dishes!
