Exbury in Springtime
A roller coaster day. Just after midnight I had a call from the care home saying my Mother had deteriorated and asking if we would agree to her returning to hospital. After a quick consultation with my sisters, I said no. Then followed a sleepless night for us, but no more news. Martin and I went to the care home at 9.30am and were astonished to find her fully dressed and sitting in the lounge, tired but comfortable. We had a very useful conversation with the Clinical Lead about my Mother's ongoing care. It proved very timely as about an hour later, while we were on our way to Exbury Gardens to meet friends, I had a call to say she had deteriorated again and was very breathless. I had no qualms about agreeing for her to be admitted to hospital as it is clear she still has a chest infection.
We had a lovely few hours at Exbury with our good and very sympathetic friends. My blip collage shows some of the beautiful flowers we saw.
Late afternoon Martin and I went to Winchester hospital and found my Mum there. She was comfortable with oxygen and will get i/v antibiotics again. Fortunately she was in a good mood and quite lucid!
A long chat with my Cornish sister tonight. She will talk to our Aussie sister later.
