Splitting

It is the time of year to make sure there is enough firewood in the shed. It needs a bit of a top-up, so I collected a barrow load of wood to split this afternoon and did some axe-work.

I love the meditative rhythm of splitting wood, and I could do it for hours. However my back is a little achy this weekend (after some hefty weeding at G's on Thursday) so I limited myself to one load. It is a start, and if I repeat it every day the woodshed will be nicely filled by the end of the month. If not sooner.
