Winter Returns

After the last few days of sun and blue sky the weather decided to give us a change. We knew it was coming because it was forecast days in advance. However, it still felt surprising when snow started drifting down from the clouds, and again when it started actually settling, turning the ground white.
The birds were very happy to have food available from the feeders, as the snow-covering forced them to abandon pecking at the grass and winter's debris.
After it snowed most of the day the sky suddenly cleared and the sun appeared. This gave me an excuse to indulge my passion for sun, snow and shadows!
A bit later we went for a walk in the evening sun. It wasn't warm but it was uplifting.
