Loving this weather!

Making the most of it!
Beautiful warm sunny day.
Sitting at the patio table with a book.
I’ve had another appointment at the hospital yesterday. The infection at the bottom of the scar hasn’t quite cleared up yet.
Still on strong antibiotics, but feel really well.
Doesn’t interfere with my walking, but they are not as far right now. And the Staff nurse said yesterday to make sure I rest and put my feet up when I begin to feel the pain increase, which is caused by this ongoing difficulty.
Being me I get frustrated at not being able to walk as far as I like just now!
And I love walking!
Yet when I think back, I had my first hip done only 5 months ago! And this one 5 weeks ago today!
It’s amazing what a difference it has already made.
I am so pleased.
Here I am sitting in the sunshine listening to the birds. Not as many in the garden at the moment as the feeders need cleaning and replenishing.
It will have to wait.
Blessed to have a garden in which to spend time.
Blessed by sunshine and blue skies.
Blessed to have Stephen.
Where so many have to do these things on their own.
My friend Lilian came the other afternoon.
She is in her early 80’s and part of the French Conversation group, (from which I have taken a break, till I decide what to do next).
She broke her hip several years ago and made a good recovery. Then before Christmas had a fall and fractured the other one. She is single and lives in a ground floor apartment. I so admire her for her courage and determination. She has a neighbour who has been great. Anyone who has worn the infernal pressure socks day and night knows that it is virtually impossible to put them on yourself! Taking them off is easier with a grab stick.
After a hip operation you are not allowed to bend down to reach that far.
I don’t think anyone can avoid the chaos coming out of the White House right now.
But the iconic MAGA hat has had a makeover. They are now beginning to appear with different slogans.

I am sad to think of all you blippers in the States who are having to watch this daily.
At the moment it is unavoidable.
But the depth of feeling here in Europe (I count myself a European!) is growing each day.
We definitely do not want the Unmentionable on a State visit here!!
There will be bigger protests than last time!
But undoubtedly in the name of “Diplomacy” it will go ahead.
Le Monde, the French newspaper, carried an article labelled
“Donald Trump.:The Strategy of Arrogance.”

Says it all really!
