Brougham Castle

I went to a funeral at the Eden Valley Crem today, the father of a lady who worked for me. On the way home I detoured down to Brougham Castle to see if the dry spell was affecting the river Eamont. It was the lowest I've ever blipped it, but not bad. 

In the evening we went to the CWT Penrith Group to hear a talk on owls, We would have hoped to see a colourful presentation by the speaker but, a misunderstanding occurred and neither the speaker or the committee brought a laptop. Then one of them went home for a laptop but something went wrong with that plan.

Anyhow, the speaker was very good and could deliver his talk without any prompts from the screen or notes. I found it shocking how many owls and other birds of prey are being shot, or poisoned by rodent poison.

The surprise of the evening was meeting up with PaulaJ and HighPike. Hadn't seen them for ages. More blip meets needed!
