Down the mines

This morning I went for a wander around the town of Potosi, and got some food and snacks for the bus the next day. In the afternoon I joined a group and we all went down the mines! It was really interesting seeing how people work down there, especially if you imagined you had gone back in time in Britain! It got up to 35 degrees down there, and when a trolley came you had to jump away from the tracks! It was very dusty and a relief to get out, but on the way back there was a trolley in front of us that I helped to push when it got stuck. It was heavy!

In the evening I met up with two girls from the tour and we went for dinner and hot spiced wine!
