We took advantage of a rain-free morning and headed south to Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove, OR. It is a favorite place to walk as there are always loads of birds but it's also just really pretty. When we arrived at the wetlands, I realized that the battery in my camera was almost dead and I had forgotten to put an extra in my pocket (duh). I did manage to grab some shots of various ducks and some other birds and this shot from across one of the ponds. This ended up being my favorite shot of the day.
Unfortunately, after we left the wetlands, my dad managed to twist his second ankle (he twisted the other a few days ago) so he's really hobbling now. I nagged him into putting ice packs on both ankles but I think he really just needs some time. I think we will likely skip walking the next few days which is fine.
Meanwhile, we went to their bank this afternoon and added me to their accounts. This was something we should have done sooner but none of us had thought of it. It took quite a lot of time but the young man who helped us was great and now I have access to all their accounts. Peace of mind for all of us.
I think we will get take out tonight and try to keep dad from putting too much pressure on his ankles.
cheers,
Debbi
