Dessert
"Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first."
I didn't sleep well last night, so today was a struggle, especially in the afternoon. :(
The new cleaner came. Today, he finished in two hours, which is what I gauged when I asked for only the essential (energy-intensive) chores to be done.
As soon as the workday ended, we headed to the DED Cafe. I am in the process of renewing the Trade Licence. I have to say, I love this government office. It is chilled, and we were seen immediately by a very polite and efficient local gentleman. Hopefully, everything should be in place by this time next week.
We are a day early, but it made more sense to go for a special meal to mark the 14th anniversary of my Dad's passing, as we were already out. My Dad was a big foodie, so it was not hard to pick a favourite cuisine to eat. Today, we went Chinese - Fried Rice and Chicken Manchurian. The dessert of date and coconut dumplings, which was chosen by G (my blip), was better than what we imagined when she ordered it. The five dumplings presented individually on mini spoons were quite a sight. They tasted good too.
We were horrified to discover that the parking charge in this area had tripled, thanks to the new parking overhaul. With more than forty minutes left, we walked around the block before coming home, observing an unusual number of beauty salons and men's grooming outlets.
