To-ji Temple

After breakfast we ambled around the main Kyoto Station Building which is impressive and massive, and loads of escalators, but the first official visit today was to a Ghibli Shop for Ms H to peruse.. it just so happened that that there was a massive Buddha at the Ryƍzen Kannon Temple that we couldn't not go see. 2nd on the list was Ginkakujicho however the walk up to it was along this little river with cherry blossoms both sides and the river was full of fallen leaves floating down, it was stunning.

The Ginkakujicho is known as the Silver Pavillion, which isn't silver but got it's name from the moonlight reflecting on the building's dark exterior, the gardens were lovely. We then walked the Philosopher's Path, well we thought we did but it was questioned at the end! However it was a nice walk down the same river.

Last night we'd seen posters advertising the To-ji Temple at night all lit up so in the evening we headed there... the pagoda reflecting in the water with cherry blossoms and the temples with more massive buddha's were amazing. A later dinner then off to bed because we're off tomorrow!
