Gather ye thistles while ye may

Late summer nectar,
As the last purple thistles
Turn to thistledown.

Hurried haiku, sorry. Much better poem below. Got to get up in a few hours to set off on our hols..... blipping may be sporadic, will catch up when I can ... wi-fi permitting.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles today
To-morrow will be dying.
