Ballboy @ The Liquid Rooms Annex

What a mad rush to get through to Edinburgh Village for 8pm but we made it with minutes to spare to catch Ballboy supporting Kid Canaveral.

I haven't seen either of them for about 18 months and paying £12 for parking reminded me why.

Ballboy were fine though with some old old songs, newer old songs, old new songs and a new new song.

It all makes sense when you consider they haven't released anything for years and we are talking on a Stone Roses scale!

Part time band, fairly simple arrangements, somewhat ramshackle at times Ballboy are (is?) the very essence of indie royalty.

Kid Canaveral were also good however David struggled a bit vocally at times. They tried a few new ideas and songs but the singles still are outstanding.

And the night wouldn't have been complete without the mandatory "I'm more indie than you" competition among some of the ladies in the audience.
