(099) Core Blimey

I've been running a tubeless setup on my gravel bike for the past couple of years and it has mostly been successful. However, one bugbear has been the tendency for the valve cores to become gummed up with tyre sealant. This isn't a problem at home when I can strip the valve and clean out the cores but if I need to add air to a tyre when out on the road it can be a real pain if the core is really blocked. Today I had new Muc-Off Big Bore valves fitted which will/should eliminate the problem as the valve core is replaced with a lever-operated ball valve, which won't be susceptible to clogging up. I should now be able to venture forth once again in the knowledge that I can easily adjust tyre pressures, whatever may occur.

On my way home from the bike shop I decided to stop at local car wash and have the past couple of months' worth of grime removed. Ten minutes and ten quid later and the car looks showroom ready again.
