The donkey sanctuary, Sidmouth
After a wonderful hotel breakfast this morning, the four of us travelled over the Dorset-Devon border to meet my mother-in-law's brother and his wife (Mr hazelh's Uncle Jonathan and Auntie Gilly) at a donkey sanctuary just outside Sidmouth. This was a great venue for wandering and chatting, with a convenient restaurant for coffee and lunch breaks. I also loved petting the residents, such as that blipped.
When we returned to Lyme Regis, my in-laws read their books in the beautiful hotel garden while Mr hazelh did the rounds of the local restaurants to identify a venue for supper. We ended up booking a table at Swim on the seafront. This turned out to be a great choice. The food was just right for us, and we were very well looked after by the young waiting staff. We were particularly impressed by the waitress who both took our booking in the afternoon and looked after us during our meal.
We can't believe how lucky we have been with the weather so far on our wee April holiday.
Exercise today: walking (12,491 steps).
