A beautiful comeback

Our Bougainvillea, now growing on the miniature pergola, is definitely trying to make a comeback. It's been helped along with some fertilizer and watering the other day, plus a huge dump of rain after that. I love this flower, more correctly described as  "bracts" (modified leaves). So unusual and pretty.

We've had some up and down days with mom, who is in Memory Care for moderate to severe Alzheimer's. This past Sunday, it was the worst we've seen yet. She was angry about being there, combative, argumentative and saying she was smarter than us and would go out the door (locked with a code) or climb the fence outside (8 ft tall).. When we said we were going to leave because our conversation was going nowhere, she said - good, and don't come back!

Oh dear. Well, Steve went back yesterday and she was in a different frame of mind entirely, laughing at his jokes and in a good mood, thank goodness. But in the meantime we had to pay attention to mom not being interested in activities, saying she did not want to move to the Assisted Living side and threatening to try to leave the facility. So we told the Director we did not think mom was a candidate for Assisted Living. They were relieved that we were honest.

Mom came into Memory Care unexpectedly as she was supposed to go to Assisted Living, but refused. She has been staying in the 'Model Room' since she arrived as that was what was available. Hopefully this afternoon Steve will go to tour the available rooms so she will be set up in her own room. I cannot go because of my cold and being contagious, but he will take photos and share them with my sister, her husband and me. We'll go from there.
