Cloudless

One of those days, starting early and finishing late, when it was hard to believe how much I packed in. I finally managed to escape from responsibility in the late afternoon and got out for a short run (with some efforts, which seemed to do the trick of waking my legs up), followed by a bike ride. It was by far the best time of the day for it The sky has been cloudless yet again but this persistent north-easterly wind has felt distinctly chilly. I kept opening my door and getting a blast of cold air. Ten yards away, in the sun and out of the wind, it would have been possible to sunbathe.

I've not been past the tump all winter so it was appropriate to mark the occasion with another shot for the collection. The ride was only out to Barden, just 20 miles, but the final hill home was a struggle and I'm sore too. It's amazing how the bike fitness disappears, even while training for a marathon! I have to remind myself that it will come back, and always sooner than I think. It seems like a long way away right now.

Finally, a dash into Leeds for the AGM of the Writer's Circle. It was a surprisingly enjoyable and entertaining affair. The Circle has a great vibe and is thriving at the moment.
