Lily Pond

Very apt use of the singular here, as this is the only one in flower at the moment. Perhaps they haven't been helped by the amount of pond weed that's flourished over the past few weeks, so my daring husband donned his fishing waders and got in among the lilies to clear out most of the weed. Looks like something's been eating the leaves, but the flower is unharmed.

I was also out in the garden armed with secateurs and loppers, doing what I do best - chopping things down:-) Everything in the garden seems to have gone in to overdrive this summer, so it was necessary to cut it down to size!

We're both weary now, but it was very satisfying to see the results of our labour. Hope you're having a productive weekend:-)
