Hoghton Bottoms

The colours caught my eye as we walked through some fields towards a ravine that the River Darwen runs through , known as Hoghton Bottoms .
The area is a continuation of the yellow hills which lead towards Hoghton Tower , a Tudor Elizabethan Manor House that has apparently been around for 1000 yrs . Some Peaky Blinders scenes were played out there too .
I’ve offered to lead a walk in this area for a couple of friends so needed to check the route . The extra is of some vegetation that appears to be growing in several fields as a crop but we didn’t recognise it ( we hoped sone fellow blippers might know what it is .
Took Ruby the Motorhome for her MOT which she failed , now booked in with a welder .
Had long chat on phone with Nat earlier and now it’s time to ready the house for our two young visitors tomorrow. Thank goodness it’s still due to be sunny .
