Jacks Gold.
I love this plant which grows by our tiny pond.
Brunnera macrophylla, variety ‘ Jacks Gold’.
A beautiful dainty blue flower, which looks like forget- me - nots.
However it is the heart shaped leaves. Pale silver grey with dark green veins which make this plant special.
Today started with a 9.15am appointment for MrC at Pinderfields Eye Hospital for his routine injection.
It was a cold foggy morning 4C.So set off early incase there was a hold up on the M62.
No problems and we arrived at 8.40am.
We were on our way home 5 mins before his appointment time!
Thanks NHS.
That meant I could go to my Sit and Be Fit class.
Much warmer this afternoon.
I planted some Broad Beans in the raised bed, and another bag of potatoes.
Then after hanging some washing out I sat outside and read for a while.
One thing we enjoyed today was seeing David Hockney being interviewed, before the opening of his largest exhibition ever, in Paris.
True to his Bradford roots. Speaks his mind.
A badge on his jacket read,
“ End Bossiness Soon”.
He is always laughing . At nearly 88 he is frail but still dapper, in his beige, red and black houndstooth suit and yellow glasses perched on his nose.
One thing he said made us laugh.
When he first went to the Royal College of Art in London in the late 1950s the other students laughed at him.
“ People would mock my accent “, he says
. But didn’t faze him. Hockney knew his worth even then. “ I’d look at their artworks and think, well if I drew like that , I’d keep my mouth shut.”
