'Perfect Morning Coffee'
Cantuccini, the traditional tiny, crunchy, dry almond biscuits, originated in Tuscany.
Like many Tuscan products, they are baked twice. Being free from moisture, they keep very well and became a favourite of sailors and other travellers embarking on long journeys.
Traditionally eaten in the evening with sweet dessert wine, they are also delicious when steeped in my morning coffee!
