Garrara (Fishing Spears)

Four fishing spears taken by James Cook, repatriated to the La Perouse Aboriginal community after 254 years and now on display, under glass, at Chau Chak Wing museum. On the wall behind them are modern versions, made with glue and metal prongs.

They’ll eventually be housed in a new cultural and visitors’ centre at Kurnell.

And wharves have been built for a new ferry service between La Perouse and Kurnell.
