Tubular worm casts
Jeanette, Mandy & I met for a coffee in the Country Table before going to pay for our holiday at the travel agents this morning. Karen, who owns the cafe was just on her way out, but very briefly said hello. Jeanette, Karen & myself were in the same class through school, even went on a school cruise together, but neither Jeanette nor Karen recognised, or remembered each other. Not long after Jackie & Gerry Whittle came into the cafe. Jeanette, Gerry & I were in the same class, again neither remembered each other. What a coincidence. They had just booked a coach trip to Durham, Whitby & around. We were off to the Caribbean.. Whoop whoop!!!
Forgot I popped into a charity shop I was passing on the way for coffee. I picked up a paperback that sounded interesting. 50pence. Waiting to pay, the assistant was serving someone else. I thought I would take a quick look at the dress rail... 2 dresses plus a M&S blouse AND a 50pence paperback came to £20.... I joked with the sales assistant how by waiting while she took her time to serve I ended up spending more money.. She thought I was fed up with waiting, & leaving. It's good to laugh. :-)
I nipped into Asda for a few bits then back to Mum with her lunch. A nice hot pasty.. Only it was'nt so tasty. Never mind. They smelled good.
Back home I made lunch for J & myself. I sat outside in the sunshine to eat mine. It was too nice to be indoors.
I rang the care company that look after Mum to discuss the times the carers are going to her. 7pm is too early. She certainly won't be happy going to bed. I had arranged for a 8.15 - 9pm visit. I messaged Mel, Mum's cleaner. She's still not well enough to come back to work.
Messaged the hairdresser. Booked for a week Thursday.
Then I had a mad hour or so tidying the greenhouse, & sowing seed. Broad bean (I know it's late), runner beans, pumpkin & courgette. I need to buy carrot & beetroot seed.
Homemade veggie soup & crusty bread for dinner... It's meatless Monday.
