A crabby farewell to Madeira

Our flight today was mid afternoon so we had the morning to say our last goodbye to Madeira. We went to nearby town of Machico where the first Portuguese settlers landed in 1419. It is an interesting town with a lovely seafront and sandy beach (imported) and a beautiful church. While walking along the seafront we noticed hundreds of crabs sunning themselves on the rocks of the breakwater. The small ones were silver grey but the larger ones like this one here were darker but with red edges to their shells.
