18th Century Folly ...

... The Temple Gates on the Dumfries House Estate were intended to lead via a grand avenue to the House but after a dispute with the neighbouring landlord they ended up being redundant. The two 'temples' at each end were occupied until the 1930s thereafter falling into disrepair. In 2016 the structure was restored and an avenue of trees and daffodils was created leading to the arboretum. Now known as the Duchess of Rothesay Walk.
Another beautiful day.
Some more views from today's visit in the extra.
Mary thanks for all your visits, comments, stars and hearts. Very much appreciated.
