Pheasant ( Phasianus colchicus )
As you may have noticed by now many of my blip come from my "just in case" shots first thing in the morning. This is another one. This little dark female Pheasant has been more or less resident in the garden for a few months.
It is just as well I did just in case shots. I had made a slight boob about my hand. It seems I was supposed to have made an appointment with the nurse at our practice to have the compression dressing removed and alight dressing put on so I can exercise the fingers. Not knowing this I had to urgently get in touch with the practice.
So I phoned! I was 30th in the queue to begin with. Every minute we got half a minute of messages including if you want a ring back press one. I didn't dare use that as BT say press 5 for ringback. I was terrified if I tried for ringback I would lose my place. So one hour twenty minutes later I got through. Fortunately they are able to see me tomorrow morning Just the day the surgeon wanted me to have the bandage off. Phew!
That took most of the morning. The afternoon was our Social Club AGM. I have been holding the post of Vice Chair as the current Chairman was this time last year in the process of selling his house. He still is! However he does at least now have a buyer. So he was stepping down. Two of us were nominated for the chair and the best man won (the other was a woman). We rounded off the business part of the meeting by a beetle drive. I have never driven beetles before and was amazed at how competitive it became.
