Heron
We really could get used to this weather, and the forecast is for more of the same for about a week. The downside of course is that there is a danger of wild fires, and several have already been raging, although have been contained. Glen Trool in the Galloway Hills had a bad one, which has now been contained. We walked many times in that area, when the girls were young and also with the club, and it is such a beautiful part of Scotland. Let's hope people use common sense with their bbq's and fires over the next few weeks. Oh, and of course, we will soon be hearing of a shortage of water, although how that can happen in a country as wet as Scotland I can't imagine, a couple of weeks of dry weather and we are on the edge.
I managed to catch the heron as he was taking off, not the best picture but the best I could get. I was pleased to get one of him in action.
