Esk Pike, Great End and Scafell Pike
After working the weekend it was time to head out and tick off some new Wainwright's. I'd planned to walk Great End and potentially Scafell Pike depending how confident I felt. I ended up walking up Esk Pike as it was nearby first and then over to Great End where I could see Scafell Pike and it didn't look that far away or difficult until I started walking to it, it's very rocky over Broad Crag over the big slabs of stone then there's a very steep climb/scramble up onto Scafell Pike. I'm not good with heights or scrambles and it turned my legs to jelly but I made it to the top. The views today were so clear and you could see over to the Isle of Man and Morecambe bay. Scafell Pike was one of my goals this year and I'm glad I chose to walk it today as the weather was perfect. I'm now on 190 completed.
