Our weeping cherry

We've had this weeping cherry for years and 2 years ago it was sickly with sticky, oozing stuff coming out of the branches, coating the leaves and flowers, smaller branches dying. I read up on it and there was no cure so we hacked off all the branches we could with the loppers ready to cut down the bigger ones at the same time as the trunk - but we were not rushing to hack the trunk as it had grown to some size.
Well the tree fought back and last year it seemed to be doing OK although there wasn't much blossom, so we thought, wait and see and this year it's lovely again. I daresay the sticky disease will come back but at present we have our lovely weeping cherry back.
It's been a lovely day again although not as warm as some people were dressed for. I saw a chap laid out (sunbathing) on a grassy area with nothing but shorts on and I've seen a lot of folk with short sleeved tops, shorts and flip-flops. I am generally a feeling warm person but it was a cold wind again today.
Our cars are covered in dust again although not as bad as before they were washed.
