Spring green

The trees are really starting to leaf out. It was overcast today, and I got a very late start after an insufficient sleep, but had a good drive to Purcellville to buy some garden plants. I love the colors of the early leaves before they even out into a general green. The greenhouses at Abernethy and Spencer are some of the oldest in the mid-Atlantic, and the new owners (we all still miss David despite the great new energy) are renovating some of the buildings. Hopefully will be able to get flowers and kale in the ground tomorrow, between showers.
