Comfort from fear

When I got to the place my mom is at, this was the first time in a long while that she didn't say hi to me or even notice that I was there. After sitting down, holding her hand and looking directly at her, she finally said hi. Her voice was the quietest I have heard in awhile. Everything on the television seemed real to her. She worried about not having this or that, wondering why she needed to take a drug that was advertised and...

We watched three Hallmark movies. She ate half her breakfast but the entire huge doughnut. No real conversation as I had to try and keep her fears away. When I asked her for what she wanted next week - she kept saying I don't know. What about a surprise? I don't know. I will bring a variety of things and hope for the best.

In the extra is flowers her younger sister sent to her hoping she was well.
