Bee work

A bee butt.

We have a log house so the boring bees love it. Usually they return to the same holes but this year there seems to be a gazillion bees making new nests.

I chased this bee away and plugged this hole with duct tape for now. It was at eye level near the front door and did not want it there. She was not happy! The saw dust is from the front porch rocking chair where another hole was drilled under the arm. Just left this one alone as I think there might already be larva.

I need to get a bee house thing for them.

In spite of not wanting the bees to bore holes I am fascinated by how something so tiny can drill out a hole in wood. Our logs are treated and have layers of waterproof stain on them. I can barely hammer in snail as they are so hard.


Bees are tiny working miracles.
