The Jackdaws are back!!

The jackdaws have returned to the grass of our communal lawn in Matlock.
They are ripping up holes in the grass, presumably looking for some form of bug which is hatching / emerging at this time.
They are very handsome birds although they are very noisy particularly when they roost in the tall pine trees which are at the edge of our garden
