Discovery II

Today has been a good day. Spending a weekend with the fella not doing anything particularly special but just being. And that makes me very happy (note: I'm making good on my promise to look at the positives and dwell on what's good. Yes I would love it to be like this all the time but at least we're doing it sometimes)

So to today. Actually set the alarm on a Saturday as we've been meaning to go to a parkrun for ages and today was the day. Despite yesterday's scouting we still got a bit lost getting to the car park (in our defence it was a different one to yesterday and not signed at all) but made it in time for the newbies briefing. We'd set ourselves the target of 27mins and managed to come in just under that so v happy (if a little sweaty and red faced). Will definitely be back as the atmosphere was great.

A quick shower and hairwash later I headed to town to get my roots done whilst the fella did some jobs around the house. My hairdresser is awesome and met the brief for both colour and style perfectly. Back home we (well ok the fella - I'm not very good with a chisel) lifted the horrible laminate. Disappointment at first when the dining room just revealed ugly floor. But then we did the lounge - and woop woop what is underneath but gorgeous floorboards. They need some tlc and probably some insulation underneath but I've got an expert floor man coming round next week to make a plan. Am so excited to bring some character (and style!) back to the house. Impatient to get started now.

Off out to dinner later at K&Cs - bit nervous as it's the first time they've met the fella but am sure all will be fine (as long as they don't feed him tomatoes).
