Water Worker

He's below our window,
examining the workings
bump bang clang

and it looks as though
things may get drier
before they get wetter/better.

Bowls, buckets, bottles,
jugs, kettles, cans
- we'd better fill them while we can.

Burst water main is it? Please
solve the problem Mr Shadow-Hands,
Mr Mains-Man, Mr Water-Worker.

Work through the night if you have to.
Put it right. Tomorrow
we must bathe, flush loos, brush teeth.

No pressure! I'm sure you'll ensure
our water works. We'll ignore
