The Light Room

Heavily Cropped

It's time to say goodbye to the oilseed rape, and the (long-departed) wildflowers and bees (not long departed, thankfully). There are still a lot of 'cabbage whites' around, and doubtlessly insects. This scene though is also the cause of my ongoing hay fever... it has been a bad season for that, and soon it will all be over! As this combine was chugging along, I did predictably see a rabbit fleeing from the scene. What I didn't expect was its behaviour; you'd expect it to get as far away as possible, instead it ran then paused, close to the ground, then ran again. Exposure to potential predators was probably on its mind. Overall though, I think it's a great scene, the bringing in of a crop that has been out there for many months, reaping what has been sown.
