End of Week 1 of the federal election campaign.

Tony Abbott: 'FKD' made me smile when I spotted it in my neighbourhood today. Newtown isn't all that keen on Tony Abbott, the Liberty Party or indeed multi-nationals like KFC for that matter. (Just in case it's not screamingly obvious).

It serves as a counterbalance to the break-in and vandalism of offices used by the Labor Party's PR firm a couple of nights ago- they're in the same building as my company so we had police swarming all over, looking for any hint of politically motivated acts and hauling away everything down to the bottle of mineral water in our fridge in case food or beverages had been poisoned or otherwise tampered with.

I think I'm going to count myself lucky that I'm going to be out of the country for the last few weeks of campaigning- as well as for the election itself. For once, I have perfect timing. :-)
