Chaenomeles speciosa (sweet)

This, I am reliably informed, is a flowering Quince 

It is forcing it's way through our hedge from the other side. Our neighbour's side.

It has not made an appearance before.  But it is sprouting in several places, and I am pleased to see it. The hedge is forty five metres long and very green. This gorgeous splash of colour is very welcome.

I might be tempted to sneak next door to see what their side looks like. It must be fabulous if this is anything to go by...
