The Museum.of the Home. Hoxton, London

When I was a little girl I loved visiting the Geffrye Museum where you could look at living/dining rooms from.different decades, looking their best.  Children had a question sheet to complete.  It was my favourite place to visit.

In recent times it has had a complete revamp. .It is now called The Museum of the Home.  Not only can you still see the older display that I loved so.much.  But also the museum now shows rooms that were inhabited by people from different countries who had come to the UK to live and who had ended up.in Hoxton.  The rooms now show the differences in what was important or loved by different societies.  These rooms have been created by real people giving an accurate view of how they lived.  Examples include: Irish. Asian, Jewish, African  communities and more
The rooms are showing what a specific nationality's room looked like...all quite different!

My sister, one of my closest girlfriends and I went  today and enjoyed it so much that we will.go back again.  No entry charge and it has the excellent Molly's restaurant and a beautiful garden too. What a lovely day out!
